A boutique hostel in the heart of Townsville, 'Flashpackers' if you will! If you're looking for a premium, clean, friendly, central hostel, with comfortable beds and good Wi-Fi, you've come to the right place!
Sovereign House is a heritage listed building, with high ceilings, extra large rooms and facilities, with wrap around verandahs and a cafe and bar on site.
Our dorm rooms are male, female or mixed and accommodate 6 people, ages 18-35, and there is no overcrowding here! Relax in one of the many shared spaces, or read a book in the hammocks, our hostel is the perfect stay while you're in Townsville. If you need help securing your 88 days we can help with that too, just see Coppo for a list of jobs!
We are a short taxi or uber ride from the airport, we are literally across the road from the train station and a scooter or taxi/uber from the bus stop. The street we are located on is the main street in Townsville.

Kitchens where dirty, no cold water, bathroom was always taken.
At checkin the guy was going to send us (we both did give our number separately) information and the wifi code we never got this. Needed to ask twice to even get sheets and bedding. It was freezing in the room. Bad experience sadly enough.

Love this hostel! James and Emma ate lovely hosts. Bar gets busy downstairs during weekends with loud music and groups of people so don’t expect to get a good nights sleep on weekends

I stayed in a 6 bed Female room. The room was big and with enough space to put all the luggage, also good air conditioning. The lounge was nice as well. My low rate is due to the only one bathroom for the whole section and the disgusting kitchen where everything was so dirty that I couldn’t even use the microwave. The mattress were old so you could feel the spirals on your back. Also, it’s located a bit far from downtown or any shops.
