Montañita is a village on Ecuador's Santa Elena Peninsula, known for its beaches with strong surf breaks and bohemian vibe. Lively bars, nightclubs and thatch-roofed restaurants line the streets. Hey there! Selina Montanita is a two-building property. When you book with us, you may be in our second property – just two minutes walking distance from the main building. Not to worry: you’ll still have access to all the common areas, including the pool!

Tiny rooms with literally a bed in them, no room for any of your stuff, bag etc.
Dirty towels with stains. We were told there’s a “towel shortage” when we asked for fresh towels and when we received towels they were covered in brown stains
We had to request for our room to be cleaned and they put bedsheets with black mould on them
The toilets are disgusting and never cleaned
The showers didn’t have locks on them (?!) had to ask for locks to be put on them
The staff are half asleep and haven’t a clue how to run the place. They seem so lost when you ask for anything and when you finally get their attention it’s like a chore for them to give you information or show you anything.
The pool is nice but again, the chairs are full of bird poo and never cleaned
The location is great as it’s right on the beach and within all the restaurants and bars. However, if you’re looking to get any sort of sleep, don’t stay here. The hostel is in between two of the biggest nightclubs and the music is on until 5am every night of the week. They warn you three times about this at check in but won’t explain anything else to you like where the kitchen is or the cinema room because who needs that?
The hostel itself starts playing music before 9am every morning even though there’s literally no one to play for?! They had some singer with the screechiest voice waking people up. Bizarre.

One of the best hostels in Montanita. The only bad side is its near the clubs so that At nights it’s loud so hard to sleep untill 4am. The rest all is good.

The rooms are a bit small for 6 people with luggage and the shower it’s not that hot. The wifi doesn’t reached the room very well and the most important problem was the noise and the parties. I booked Selina because i knew that it is a quiet place to chill in but the parties in the weekend are for a whole day! From 12pm until 4am!!And imagine that you are coming back from another party at 8 am and you just want to sleep but you can NOT ! The music is so loud it gets inside your room and dreams!
