La Chimba Hostel is set in the charming bohemian neighbourhood of Barrio Bellavista, just five minutes from La Chascona and the nearest metro station. Hostelworld guests have said the private rooms have ‘all the amenities of a hotel with more character’ and that they’d recommend this hostel because it has ‘many open places to sit, mingle and drink’. This laid-back hostel has an outdoor terrace, clean comfortable beds and friendly staff who like to socialise with guests, hosting pub crawls, BBQs and more.

La Chimba Hostel has been a favorite of international backpackers and wanderers visiting Santiago since we first opened in 2005. With all of Santiago’s popular attractions within walking distance and a bar full of like-minded travellers - La Chimba is the place to be for backpackers visiting Chile’s capital. Immerse yourself in Santiago’s historic past and soak up the atmosphere at this 100 year old house turned lively hostel in the heart of vibrant Barrio Bellavista.
Over the years our popular hostel has been distinguished with Hostelworld's HOSCAR award a number of times, including Best Hostel in Latin America and 3rd Best Hostel World-Wide.
La Chimba’s bustling bar is the place to be for cheap AF beer, daily drink specials, beer pong, events and hanging out with travellers from around the world. Our bar also features an art gallery displaying fine artwork from local and international artists.
NEIGHBORHOOD
Our central, artsy neighborhood is packed with the city’s best bars, restaurants and nightclubs. You will be five minute walks from ATMs, money exchange, grocery shops, fruit markets, handicrafts, tour agencies, fast food, coffee shops and even Taco Trucks. Additionally, Barrio Bellavista is served by the Baquedano Metro Hub Station which provides the most connectivity of the entire underground transportation system.

Whatever your budget we’ve got mixed, female-only dorms and private rooms to suit. All our beds have quality spring-mattresses. Bed linen is provided and each bed comes with a backpack-sized locker to keep your belongings safe.

Loved the vibe, very funky and groovy. Lots of areas to relax, doesn't get too noisy. Staff were lovely and accommodating.

Beds were really big and comfortable (in the deluxe female dorm) plus the outdoor spaces were great. Shower was quite cold and in one of the kitchens quite a few things were out of order

La Chimba Hostel says
Penso che Barrio Bellavista è senza dubbio il quartiere più interessante di Santiago, per quanto riguarda le attrazioni culturali e la vivace vita notturna. La zona è un\'oasi di architettura coloniale colorata, con strade alberate e un\'atmosfera da paese, a pochi passi da Piazza Italia, la Times Square di Santiago. La stazione della metropolitana Baquedano Hub è nei dintorni ed è la stazione che fornisce la connettività più alta con tutto il sistema metropolitano. In particolare raccomando la visita a Cerro San Cristobal (un parco metropolitanosu un colle alto con una magnifica vista della città) e l\'ex casa del poeta Pablo Neruda, che è aperta ai visitatori. Entrambi sono a meno di due isolati di distanza dal nostro ostello per soddisfare le persone con disabilità. Il nostro ostello è adatto a viaggiatori singoli indipendenti e coppie in cerca di un luogo sociale per incontrare altri viaggiatori e conoscere la cultura e la vita notturna di Santiago.
