The clean and quiet Chill Backpackers is an easy walk from most of downtown Brisbane. In fact, this hostel has excellent views over the city and the river from its rooftop terrace. It also has laundry facilities, a jobs board, car parking, a pool table and more. Several Hostelworld guests have told us that ‘the roof top is a great place to get in contact with others, for pre-gaming and to chill’.

Located in the City Centre just 250mts from the Roma Street bus & train station, Chill offers air conditioned rooms, free off street parking, fast cheap Wi-Fi and great common areas to relax, all with fabulous sweeping views of Brisbane the River City.
'This hostel delivers city & river views like no other Brisbane hostel. There is a movie room too, but why not kick back with a cocktail on one of the fabulous decks'.
Chill Backpackers is BYO so you can save money & enjoy your own beer or wine from the bottle shop!
We are close to everything Brisbane has to offer; Southbank Parklands, Queen Street Mall, Casino, Suncorp Stadium, XXXX Brewery, markets, cinemas, night-life, supermarket and more. Just ask our staff for a map, you can walk to everything!
Never be bored! board games and PlayStation, sun-loungers and we have a pool table with a hell of a view! Our high speed Wi-Fi is FREE and unlimited and is available all over the hostel. .
Driving a car? We have a lot of free off street parking! However, if you have a vehicle please call us before arrival just to let us know you require a parking spot.
Our reception is not a 24 hour service.
Looking for work? We offer a free job club to help you find a job & we're good at it!
You'll be safe with us. We are in a safe part of the city centre in a well-lit street and have state of the art security and fire detection systems operating 24hrs. Our friendly reception team are here from 8am-11pm 7 days a week, Rooms are available to check into after 3pm. We do not offer late check ins.
Please note that in the interests of security, all guests are required to produce government photo ID on check-in. Persons wishing to stay in our backpacking dormitory accommodation are required to have with them a full sized travellers backpack (65 ltrs or above). A backpack is not required to stay in a single, twin or double room.

Positives: Staff were lovely and helpful (can’t fault them). On arrival we were able to get free pack of pasta each and loaf of bread (AMAZING)
Negatives: dated throughout which makes the place feel grubby bathroom floor was black (dirt) locks were broken, had to hire cutlery and plates etc (bizarre), Wi-Fi was hit and miss.
Fine for a few nights to stop over.
