Really nice stay. Staff are amazing, made us feel so welcome! We stayed in the Hippie House shed. It did get pretty cold but was decent enough! Breakfast was GREAT! 10/15 min walk out of the centre but super safe to walk around! Not the most social hostel but everyone we met were lovely!

the hostel was lovely and pool area was great. breakfast was really good and the social area was nice. there wasnt a kitchen which was a shame but everywhere was clean and ataff friendly. only issue was we asked for blankets and were not aware we would be charged for them on leaving which was dissapointing. wifi was patchy which was a shame but location was good and would stay here again

5 people I have spoken to have been stolen from in this hostel. 2 credit cards which then had been used to buy things, earrings and jewellery, 100 euro, a novel I was reading had 200 real in it and the book disappeared and a glasses case I had with my spare glasses and 60 USD was taken. This was over a period of over 2 weeks so it cannot have just been the same hostel guest stealing items. These things were kept in my room, mainly in the locker but then in my bag the night before I left as I was leaving early the next morning. This is honestly mind blowing. Some people also said there’s could have been taken from the storage room. It is a shame to say this as the volunteers are really nice, but the security is clearly not strong enough. There was also some random entry into our room by a guy that seemed to work there, without pre warning us.
Other points to note are that there is no kitchen available to use, dinner on offer sometimes (not Mondays), general vibe is fun and good, wifi good, pool nice, rooms a bit damp and ventilation overnight isn’t great but that’s to be expected from Paraty in general. Rating of staff does not reflect the excellent volunteers.
