Gilligan’s accommodation is located in the city centre and offers spacious, air-conditioned, en-suite rooms in dorm-style accommodation or private hotel rooms.
Facilities include free linen, free Wi-Fi, free luggage storage, pool tables, powder room, fitness room and four brand new 'state of the art' communal kitchens, fully equipped for you to prepare all your meals. We also have onsite Workers wanted agency. We have a huge swimming pool so you can chill-out with friends at a safe distance or keep fit and active while spending time here in Cairns.
The health and safety of all staff, guests and patrons remains paramount at Gilligan’s. Management encourages everyone to take Social Distancing and personal hygiene seriously and to immediately action the Australian governments and Health Officials warnings and directions surrounding COVID19.
Gilligan's prides itself on providing a clean and safe environment and continues to be a wonderful experience for travellers. We welcome all guests with virtual open arms.

Private room was nice. Big party hostel. Loud people shouting/partying in the common areas at all hours of the night, even at 4am. I had a room facing the street so it was not too bad. Kind of a mix between a hotel & hostel actually - confused at what it's trying to be. There were families with kids there too randomly. Nice pool area. The food looked pretty bad and I wasn't able to order from the bar area at 5pm on a Fri so I gave up and ate somewhere else.

Not a good hostel for solo travellers as there is not a social atmosphere. Even for a heavy sleeper like me the hostel is super noisy and very busy. The rooms and facilites are hard to keep clean even with the good housekeepers. Not worth the 40 dollars but will point out that it has a nice location

It’s good fun and probably the best place to stay, but we warned it’s loud and not a place to relax.
