Hostal Los Peñones

Our hostel has quite a history as it is a large house dating back to the 40s, as a retirement home for a congregation of Italian priests (who saw the need after the earthquake in Chile in the 60s in Chillan, leaving orphaned children). They decided to set up a home for minors in order to take them in and give them a formation. Some of them were adopted by Italian families and others still visit us remembering their childhood and their time here, even celebrating the marriage of one of them here. The home ceased to function in about 1992, after which it gradually became a hostel and meeting place for the community of San Alfonso. We have an outdoor swimming pool, outdoor hot water jars, gazebo, the land is about 3.5 hectares of land, gardens, meeting room, common dining room and refrigerator for passengers, common areas in general, barbecue grills.

Located in the Cajon del Maipo, we are very close to Santiago towards the mountains, we have many places of interest to visit. As Embalse del Yeso, Geosite Puente Cristo, Termas de Baño Colina, Casa de Chocolate, Cascada de las Animas and much more. We are focused on those who enjoy nature and mountain trekking, hiking, bird watching and everyone who enjoys nature and its environment.

The facilities consist of economy rooms, with a double bed, with private bathroom outside the room. Standard rooms with king size bed with bathroom inside the room, both categories for two people. We also have triple rooms and an apartment for up to seven people with three bedrooms, two bathrooms and a kitchen (the beds are all single, seven in total), and terrace, with heating in winter, we do not have air conditioning, we have cleaning service and laundry service with charge, the decoration is not much if there is a lot of garden and where to walk.

Cancellation Policy: 3 days before arrival. In case of a late cancellation or No Show, you will be charged the first night of your stay.
