The hostel is worth its money, don't get me wrong, but there were some things that bothered me. First off, the locations neither here, nor there. I don't understand how the website says that the property is less than 1 km from the centre, when it clearly isn't (neither historic, nor modern). Furthermore, the bathroom would usually be flooded after showers, though the staff were frantically trying to get everything dry. Finally, the number of bathroom stalls and their size were way too small.

I loved my stay at Charruas. The volunteer team is amazing and you can really feel peaceful and relaxed in this place. Looking forward to go back if I’m going back one day to Monte ❤️ thank you Charruas team/friends 🤓

Amazing beds, really comfy with a nice curtain. Good secure lockers. clean bathrooms but small. Not the greatest atmosphere that I saw, but I wasn’t there a lot. Honestly one of the most relaxing hostels I’ve stayed in. Very cool place. Very secure. Location wasn’t near downtown area, but had a few bars close by that were good and the main area was “walkable” if you had time.
