In 2021, Rio Hostel became a signatory of the Global Tourism Plastics Initiative (GTPI), led by the UN Environmental Programme (UNEP) and the World Tourism Organization (WTO), in collaboration with the Ellen MacArthur Foundation. We are also the very proud home of the Rio Foundation and you can volunteer with us every day in our local community through our educational, sporting and/or environmental programmes.

If you would like to remove it from your bill or you would like to donate more, please talk to reception.

Very nice hostel at the river. A good place if you want to party; there is a party almost every other night. The comon areas are nice, there is a volleyball field, a pool table, a hammock area and other places to chill. Around the hostel isn't much to do and you basically always have to eat at the hostel. The food is good, but a bit overpriced. Also if you don't want to party, this is probably not the place for you, since it can be pretty loud at night. I would recommend to stay 2 nights.

With our doubt you can’t visit Colombia without visiting Rio Hostel. It’s a beautiful place the staff are very welcoming and friendly. The food is great and the drinks are lovely and they even have their own bakery!! They have a good sound system and always get great djs to play. Couldn’t recommend el Rio more.

Loved my stay at Rio!! The scenery and river are beautiful plus the parties are really fun. The volunteers made an effort so every one had the best time and I would definitely stay here again. Bakery and restaurant were super delicious.
