The magic of the mountains surrounds you here. All activities take place in full view of the Matterhorn, known here as 'Hore' or 'Horu'. Since it was first conquered more than 150 years ago, this symbol of Switzerland has attracted countless mountaineers and inspired admirers to create spectacular souvenir pictures. As this majestic 4000-metre peak has so many beautiful aspects, several cableways and magnificent hiking routes will take you to one of the numerous viewpoints, such as the Gornergrat, the Klein Matterhorn (Glacier Paradise) or the Sunnegga. Skiers and snowboarders will love the slopes, which have guaranteed snow all year round and offer a view of the Matterhorn, as well as the space available for winter sports equipment in our hostel.

People are only at the front desk before 10 am and after 4pm. Arrived a bit early and just wanted to ask questions about what to do in the area/ get the wifi but nobody was there and you can’t get the wifi (unless you have a working phone number- which I didn’t) until you get the password on your receipt when checking in after 4pm.
The hostel was not really a vibe. Not very social. The rooms were kind of Stankey. They charge you 25CHF if you don’t make your bed properly. This is the most I’ve ever paid for

Cute, great for only hostel in zermatt. LOUD snoring, y’all should have a snore room in these places for those to select when they know they snore. Bit of a hike with luggage but that’s zermatt, super hilly. Bathrooms were clean! Staff was ehh a bit curt in the morning but they wanna get the place clean so I get it. Lovely bunk mates ! No elevator sucks but made do. The breakfast is nice and vegan friendly

The Zermatt Youth Hostel was a great place to stay as a solo traveler. I stayed in an 8 bedroom and then a 6. The 8 had the most amazing view and we got to see Matterhorn early in the morning and watch the sun illuminate it’s surface! It was magical! The sleeping situation was a little weird in that all the beds are next to one another in a row so be prepared for that … but honestly the view was worth it. The location is nice too. Quiet but close enough. About a 15 min walk to the train station.
