Backpackers San Pedro Comentários

How can you make a comment about a place you've been in to for just 10 minutes? Remember that you arrived, you checked in and immediately after that you went to eat and you came back to cancel your booking "because the hostel is too far". All that in 3 hours, maybe less. And you stayed here no more than 10 minutes. San pedro is a small town and the walk from/to the center takes no more than 8 or 10 minutes. Maybe it's the sun that makes everyone think that it is way far than it is really. We are in the middle of a desert! If you had read other comments and the hostel description and our website info, you had know that we are not in the center of san pedro. It is not our fault that there are people too lazy to read all the info we provide on the internet. I think that, if the surroundings were full of parks, trees, grass, stores, big supermarkets, malls, casinos, etc, those 8-10 minutes walking from/to downtown san pedro would be nothing to complain about. But there are no malls, no supermarkets, no macdonalds... And we are proud of it. But we can do nothing about green areas, since this it's a desert and the soil is not good for foreign plants, and no grass can live on salty soil. To all people coming here: be aware that is a small rural town, and unless you saty in a fancy hotel (which bribes the government to have water and electricity all day, builds in sacred atacamenian areas and old cemeteries passing through centuries of history, all in the name of money) you will not have the commodities of your city. Hope you find a good fancy hotel to fill your expectations, 99% of the backpackers that stayed here found this hostel an awesome place to be.
